Managers’ reaction
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti: “They all did what was asked of them and I’m really pleased with the performance. I’m not thinking about when we can win the league. Our next objective is the Champions League semi-final and we have to make sure we properly prepare for it, whatever happens. After the Manchester City game, we’ll analyse what has happened in these games”.
“Were focused on preparing well for the Champions League semi-final and then we’ll see what happens and if we need to beat Espanyol. We’re only focused on the Champions League and we’re in good form. We’re feeling good, motivated and everyone’s committed. Ceballos had a great game today and he was right: he deserved more minutes”.
Jagoba Arrasate, Osasuna manager: “There have been two very different parts. I think we had a very good first half, where we were comfortable with the ball, arriving and creating chances. That goal at the end of the first half was a shame, we didn’t defend well and it was a blow, we deserved a different result at half-time. The second half did remind me of Real Madrid three days ago in Seville, it was a roller coaster. Physically they have outdone us and in terms of football too.
“He has kept us in the game, it seemed that each penalty was an extra life, but that final reaction has not arrived. He has a great intuition for penalties and it is a shame that he has stopped two of Benzema and that it hasn’t served to score at least one point. We are delighted to be able to count on Sergio.
