Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has commented on the team’s performance against Celta at the renovated Santiago Bernabeu last night. After Los Blancos secured their first new-home win in football today, Ancelotti is pleased with Real’s 5-2 win over Celta.
New head coach Carlo Ancelotti discussed his Real Madrid team’s performance against Celta in a post-match interview.
AS reports him to be saying: “In the first third of hour we played well but after conceding the second goal lost a bit of confidence.
In football today, Ancelotti is pleased with Real’s 5-2 win over Celta but he was once again left frustrated anyway.
The coach has expressed his bewilderment over the defensive fragility that his team showed here, where they won 5-2, too.
“Our supporters helped us a lot when we were suffering. As well as the break between two halves – we managed to modify the defense, and we were great offensively.”
Ancelotti Analyses the Match and Its Main Players
Karim Benzema scored a hat-trick in this football match as Real Madrid won 5-2 at Santiago Bernabeu in La Liga.
Vinicius Junior was another goal scorer for Real Madrid against Celta Vigo, scoring in the 54th minute.
But it was Real Madrid newcomer, Eduardo Camavinga, who made the score 4-2 by scoring six minutes into his debut.
18-year-old Camavinga came off the bench at the 66th minute as he was substituting for Eden Hazard. This Sunday substitution was his debut appearance for Real Madrid.
And within just six minutes of entering the pitch, Camavinga even scored his first goal for his new club. The teenager found the back of the net in the 72nd minute.
Carlo Ancelotti said: “We still have to improve and balance defense and attack so that matches don’t get complicated, but the team showed great attacking quality with [Karim] Benzema, [Luka] Modric, Vinicius and [Eden] Hazard.
“Vinicius is doing really well at the start of the season. He has confidence and calm.
“Eden [Hazard] didn’t score but he was great especially interacting with Benzema. It was a great match and it should be like this coming back to the Santiago Bernabeu, everyone came out happy.”
