Borussia Dortmund still has hopes for the national title, based on the excellent departing Jude Bellingham, the club is waiting for a misstep from rival Bayern Munich. The Englishman now seems to be working on his last weeks in the Bundesliga.
Choice made: record offer cannot tempt Bellingham either
According to BILD, Bellingham is approaching his retirement as BVB midfielder. Where it had previously trickled down that the team’s tastemaker seemed to be leaving for Real Madrid, the German medium now writes that his final choice is as good as made. Although the Bundesliga runner-up refuses to accept that.
BILD reports Monday evening that Bellingham can extend his contract in Dortmund. There is a royal fee in return. Bellingham could sign a contract until mid-2026, whereby the strongholder can earn no less than fourteen million euros a year.
Never before have Dortmund made such a huge offer to a player. It still cannot compete with Los Vikingos. A salary is waiting in Estadio Bernabéu, which can amount to twenty million euros a year.
Bellingham seems to ignore Dortmund’s offer, forcing the club to take a seat at the negotiating table. Real Madrid will be there. Although the Madrilenians have to pay about one hundred and fifty million euros to get him loose.
Hazard gives an update on his future plans
Real Madrid won its first prize of the season on Saturday: in Seville, Carlo Ancelotti’s team was just too strong for Osasuna in the Copa del Rey final. Once again, Eden Hazard had no part in the success of what is still regarded as ‘his team’, especially on paper. The Belgian nevertheless has no departure plans.
Hazard came on the broadcast of Cadona Cope, a beloved radio station in Spain, and had a short but powerful message for the listeners. “Do I want to finish my contract? Naturally. It was a difficult year for me, but things like that happen in a team as strong as this one. I want to play more and I know it won’t be easy. I have to work hard,” said Hazard, who added that his relationship with Ancelotti and his teammates is “good”.
Hazard, now 32 years old, still has a contract until mid-2024 at the Bernabéu. There are various estimates of his weekly salary, but all estimates are more than 400,000 euros per week. The Champions League holder has seen little in return this season. This calendar year, Hazard came to about half an hour of playing time in La Liga.
