Harry Kane will not be Manchester United’s new striker. The Guardian reports that the club finds the transfer amount for the 29-year-old striker from Tottenham Hotspur unrealistic.
Manchester United drop out for Kane
Kane has long been associated with Man Utd and interest has not waned following the arrival of manager Erik ten Hag. According to the renowned English medium, the Dutchman is disappointed, but he understands his employer’s attitude. A few months ago, the English media spoke of an amount of £100 million for Kane, who still has a one-year contract.
That is too much for the Man Utd club management. The Guardian does know that people in Manchester are switching to other options, such as Victor Osimhen (Napoli) and Rasmus Højlund (Atalanta Bergamo). There is also an update in the transfer case of Mason Mount. Man Utd and the player are already finalized personally. But Chelsea have rejected an initial offer (of around 45 million euros) for the Englishman. The London club is said to be seeking seventy million euros for the England international.
Rashford parries criticism
Marcus Rashford cares little that he is criticized in England for not being fully committed to the national team. The reason is the decision of the attacker of Manchester United to completely miss the international match against Italy in March.
Instead of supporting his teammates in the European Championship qualifier against Italy (1-2 win), Rashford chose to go on holiday to New York for a few days. A decision he still stands by. “I didn’t see the criticism to be honest,” Rashford said ahead of a meeting with Malta. “And I didn’t see it until I got home.”
“I need time to recover and recover, so I made a short trip, four days. Then went back to rehab and try to be ready as soon as possible,” said Rashford, who was unaffected by the criticism. “I know I’m going for it 100 percent, people say what they want to say. It doesn’t really bother me.”
Two transfers in one day in the Bellingham family
Continuing with English players, on the day Jude Bellingham completed his transfer to Real Madrid. His younger brother Jobe also changed clubs. The seventeen-year-old midfielder will continue at Sunderland.
Jobe Bellingham made his breakthrough at Birmingham City last season, something his two-year older brother had also done before, and now continues his career in the north of the country. “The opportunity for young players to develop here is clear, so I think this is the perfect club for me,” said the England youth international.
Bellingham played a total of eleven years for Birmingham City, making 26 first-team appearances. With Sunderland he will meet his old club next season: after all, both clubs are active in the Championship. Sunderland qualified for the promotion play-offs in the past football year, but were eliminated by the eventual winner Luton Town.
