Inter Milan 4-2 Sassuolo: Internazionale won for the seventh time in a row in all competitions on Saturday evening. Sassuolo was defeated and as a result, coach Simone Inzaghi’s team took full advantage of the competition’s loss of points.
Inter benefits optimally from Lazio and Milan slips
Lazio did not go further than 2-2 at home against Lecce on Friday. While AC Milan even lost 2-0 at Spezia earlier on Saturday. Inter could therefore do excellent business in the hunt for a Champions League ticket. However, the first danger came from Sassuolo, who thought to open the score in the eleventh minute. Domenico Berrardi worked the ball into the net, but the goal was preceded offside. The VAR therefore put a line through that hit.
Inter did not get into the game and had to ensure that the visitors had the best opportunities in the first half. Four minutes before the break, however, it was the birthday boy Romelu Lukaku who took the lead for the home club. He made it 1-0 with a brilliant bang, so that he was involved in no fewer than seven goals in his last four Serie A matches (including the opening goal against Sassuolo).
Second half
In the second half, Inter came out of the dressing room excellently, because after an own goal from Ruan Tressoldi and a goal from Lautaro Martínez, it was 3-0 after 58 minutes. Inter was on roses and seemed to be able to work calmly towards Tuesday. Dan tries to win the semi-final of the Champions League at home against Milan in the semi-final and 0-2 win from the first leg. Via Matheus Henrique and Davide Frattesi, however, Sassuolo came back to 3-2.
However, the final agreement in Stadio Giuseppe Meazza came from Lukaku. Who set the final score at 4-2 shortly before the end. Internazionale therefore has a great weekend. Inzaghi’s team now has 66 points from 35 matches, which means it is now third in Serie A. The lead over number five AC Milan is five points. Next Tuesday, Inter hopes to reach the final of the Champions League at home. While the final battle of the Coppa Italia against Fiorentina is also scheduled for May 24.
