Newcastle United will sign Sandro Tonali. The AC Milan midfielder will sign a contract until the summer of 2029, according to his agent.
Newcastle has made its first mega purchase with Tonali
Agent Beppe Riso made no secret of the fact that the deal is almost complete. “I can confirm that it is a six-year contract. On a personal level, we’re done, it’s just a few details now,” confirmed the Italian midfielder’s representative.
Tonali was one of the driving forces in midfield at AC Milan last season. He made 34 appearances in Serie A, including 30 as a starter. In 2021 he made the switch from Brescia to AC Milan, after previously playing there for a year on a rental basis. Tonali is also a fourteen-time international from Italy. Newcastle pays about eighty million euros.
AC Milan is working on a spicy deal with Lukaku
Romelu Lukaku is being pursued by AC Milan. Although the striker will return to Chelsea this summer, numerous English and Italian media outlets claim that he has no future in London.
In the Saturday issue of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Lukaku received extensive coverage; information on the Belgian striker and his prospects for the future took up no less than five pages. It may occur once more in Milan, but not at Inter.
Lukaku was taken over from Manchester United for a lot of money in 2019 and sold to Chelsea two years later for more money. However, Lukaku could not live up to it at that club. And last season he was again under contract with Internazionale on a rental basis.
AC Milan has drawn up a plan to keep Lukaku in Milan. The number four of last season – Inter finished third – now knows that Lukaku must cost about forty million euros and that a rental deal is not an option. The forty million is a pittance compared to the 113 million that Chelsea paid two years ago to take Lukaku permanently from Inter.
The attacker wouldn’t get too excited about that. But he should wait for Inter to show some genuine interest in him. In any event, AC Milan has been in touch with London. Following the sale of Sandro Tonali to Newcastle United, the club is in a solid financial situation. Saudi Arabia has expressed interest in Lukaku as well.
