Paris Saint-Germain achieved a record best, set by Real Madrid, in the semi-final of the Champions League on Tuesday.
PSG lost no time in the semi-final game, scoring just 13 minutes in, after producing a few early opportunities.
They took the lead from a set-piece with a goal from Marquinhos after watching Neymar shoot the first chance of the game off the wall. The Brazilian was on the end of Angel Di Maria’s perfectly-placed free-kick, helping him to get an uncontested header from close up.
Marquinhos offered PSG an early advantage by burying the header, while also securing the club’s place in record books. The Ligue 1 side thus contributed to goal scoring at a record high.
PSG have now scored in 34 consecutive European matches, dating back to 2016.
Real Madrid is the other team ever to score in 34 straight European games, with the Spanish side doing so in the Champions League from 2011-2014.
