Football Transfer News – West Ham Want Diego Simeone’s Son Giovanni
Giovanni Simeone has been on West Ham’s radar for some time, according to the Daily Express.
According to the report, the Hammers negotiated a potential loan agreement for him, which included a £14 million buyout option. But this deal for the Argentine fell through over the summer.
Instead, Hellas Verona signed Simeone on loan by from his parent club Cagliari. And, in the contract, they even included the option to make the deal permanent next summer for about £10.2 million.
But now, Giovanni may just be at the top of West Ham’s striker shortlist ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
Following the January departure of Sebastien Haller to Ajax, David Moyes is still looking for a new centre-forward. The hope here is that the player in that position will provide more competition for Michail Antonio, the club’s star.
Clermont striker Mohamed Bayo, Arsenal’s Alexandre Lacazette, and Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic have all also seen connections to West Ham.
