36-year-old Keylor Navas is going to try his luck in the Premier League. Nottingham Forest have reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain for the arrival of the Costa Rican goalkeeper on a rental basis.
Keylor Navas got about the same amount of playing time as Gianluigi Donnarumma last season, but lost the competition definitively in preparation for the current season. Therefore, Navas only played in the Coupe de France this season. The Costa Rican wanted to make a switch and that opportunity was offered by Nottingham Forest. The negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain went smoothly, but eventually led to an agreement. Navas is on loan until the end of this season.
Nottingham Forest are currently without an injured Dean Henderson, so Wayne Hennessey has defended goal in the last two league matches. Henderson is expected to be injured for another four to six weeks.
Keylor Navas, is a 110-time international from Costa Rica, has played for PSG since 2019 and has made 108 official appearances for the club. Between 2014 and 2019 he was under the bar at Real Madrid. His contract in Paris expired in mid-2024. The signing of Navas was the culmination of another busy transfer window for Nottingham Forest. The club also presented Felipe and Jonjo Shelvey as signings on Deadline Day.
PSV rejects Paris Saint-Germain’s eight million euros bid for Johan Bakayoko
In other Paris Saint-Germain transfer news, the club has unsuccessfully made a bid for Johan Bakayoko. The offer did not meet PSV’s requirements, General Director Marcel Brands has indicated.
Paris Saint-Germain wanted to put a transfer fee of eight million euros on the table for the nineteen-year-old dribbler. The transfer fee could still rise to fifteen million euros due to bonuses. PSV rejected the offer, in a transfer period in which the club already saw two wingers leave with Cody Gakpo (Liverpool) and Noni Madueke (Chelsea).
Bakayoko settled in Eindhoven in 2019. The Belgian youth international came over from Anderlecht and developed strongly. The attacker made his debut in the Eredivisie in March last year. Ruud van Nistelrooij called on the talent fourteen times this season, who scored three times.
