Remo Freuler has signed for Nottingham Forest after leaving Atalanta BC. Forest announced: “Nottingham Forest is delighted to announce the signing of Remo Freuler from Italian Serie A side Atalanta.
“A Switzerland international, the 30-year-old has earned 46 caps for his country. Having made his international debut in 2017. And has also appeared at the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals and UEFA Euro 2020.
“Freuler brings with him a wealth of experience having made 202 appearances in Italy’s top flight for Atalanta after arriving from Luzern in his home country in January, 2016.
“Welcome to The City Ground, Remo!”
“It is never easy to say goodbye,” said Remo. “Especially after six years full of emotions and great achievements. Together we managed to do incredible things, taking our colours and the image of this beautiful city around Europe. It is thanks to your affection that I have always felt at home in Bergamo.
“That is why I want to thank everyone: the Percassi family, the directors, coach Gasperini, his staff, my teammates with whom I have shared joy and unforgettable moments over the years, and then all those who make this Club great by working passionately behind the scenes. And of course, a huge thank you goes to the fans, who have always supported us, both in happy and difficult times. Fortunately, the latter were few. However, there is a time in one’s career when one may have to make choices, albeit painful ones: I decided to seize this opportunity to try a new experience, to compete in a new league like the Premier League. However, Bergamo and Atalanta will always be a part of me.”
