Jude Bellingham completes his move to Real Madrid. The Englishman will transfer to Los Blancos for an amount of 103 million euros, Borussia Dortmund reports on the club’s official website. That transfer fee can increase even further due to bonuses.
Jude Bellingham for more than a hundred million euros to Real Madrid
In Madrid, Bellingham (19) must become the leader in the rejuvenated midfield with seconds Aurélien Tchouaméni and Eduardo Camavinga at his side. With the young trio, the Spanish superpower is preparing for the approaching farewell of Toni Kroos (33) and Luka Modrić (37). Both midfielders were key players for years, but are heading towards the autumn of their careers.
Bellingham has been a Borussia Dortmund player since 2020. The German top club paid about 25 million euros for the teenager to Birmingham City at the time. After his departure, his childhood club decided never to use the shirt number 22 again, ‘as a reminder of one of us and for the inspiration of others’.
Bellingham was also in the interest of Liverpool and Manchester City. Both The Reds and The Citizens hoped to capture a world-class home ground player with the English teenager, but the Three Lions international opts for a future in Estadio Bernabéu.
The fixed lump sum that Real pays is 103 million euros. This amount can increase by a maximum of 30.9 million euros due to bonuses. Twice in club history, Real paid more than a hundred million euros for one player, namely for Eden Hazard (115 million) and Gareth Bale (101 million). Both players eventually left on a free transfer.
Bayern Munich is again going to get important strength from Borussia Dortmund
Raphaël Guerreiro will most likely continue his career at Bayern Munich. According to several German sources, the Portuguese has reached an agreement in principle with Der Rekordmeister.
Guerreiro (29) has played for the past seven seasons at Borussia Dortmund, which took over the defender-cum-midfielder from FC Lorient in 2016. During his stay in West Germany, Guerreiro made 224 appearances for Dortmund. The Portuguese managed to produce forty goals and fifty assists.
His last goal was in the championship game against FSV Mainz 05 (2-2). Despite that goal, Guerreiro had to leave the national title to his future employer. The day after missing out on the championship, Guerreiro announced his departure from Dortmund and now, if all the paperwork is in order, his journey will continue in Munich.
Guerreiro is the second player to transfer from Dortmund to Bayern on a free transfer. In 2014, Robert Lewandowski preceded him. Bayern also removed Mario Götze and Mats Hummels from the Signal Iduna Park. The Dortmund fans will be disappointed that Guerreiro is now next in line.
