Bayern Munich have stated that Joshua Kimmich is “doing well” after the vaccine-sceptical (the football news) midfielder’s coronavirus test returned positive. The unvaccinated Bayern Munich midfielder has tested positive for COVID-19.
The 32-year-old, along with Kimmich, Serge Gnabry, Jamal Musiala, and Michael Cuisance, was already self-isolating due to fears of illness.
To recap, Joshua Kimmich was among those Bayern Munich and Germany stars to come in close contact with COVID-positive Niklas Sule.
He is also one of the few footballers in Germany who has chosen to not take the coronavirus vaccine yet.
Kimmich defends his refusal to get vaccination by citing lack of sufficient research as the reason behind his weakened faith.
He has claimed that he is unwilling to obtain a coronavirus vaccine until more is understood about probable long-term repercussions.
But this decision he may come to regret – Kimmich had to forego Bayern Munich practice recently on a COVID scare.
After being a close contact of someone with coronavirus, the Germany star missed Bayern’s matches against Augsburg and Dynamo Kiev.
Now, because he has indeed contracted the fatal virus, Bayern Munich are within their rights to fine the unvaccinated midfielder.
