CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is expecting a deal in the coming days for Thiago Alcantara, as the midfielder looks likely to leave Bayern Munich.
Liverpool was closely connected to a deal for Thiago, and seems likely to sign the player.
However, this week, Rummenigge said Bayern had not had any contact from the champions of the Premier League.
Asked about Thiago in an interview with Welt am Sonntag, Rummenigge replied nonetheless: “It looks like he’s going to leave us. It was crucial to him that he proved that he can perform well in the big games. When it comes to that, it’s a finish that hurts a bit. I expect a bid for him in the next few days.”
Thiago helped Bayern in a treble-winning campaign as they won the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and Champions League under Hansi Flick.
