Neymar is possibly facing a ban on playing in the Champions League finals.
Paris Saint-Germain get their first ever European Cup final with a convincing 3-0 victory over RB Leipzig in Portugal on Tuesday night.
Marquinhos, Angel Di Maria and Juan Bernat sealed the win, and PSG will now face Bayern Munich or Lyon in the showpiece game on Sunday.
But the French side’s semi-final victory over the Bundesliga team may now be tainted by the possibility of Neymar not being allowed to play the final.
According to The Sun, they would have to play without Neymar because of his actions, moments after the final whistle, when he exchanged shirts with a Leipzig player.
The Brazil icon has been seen making an interchange with Marcel Halstenberg on the pitch, which is against the UEFA rules.
There’s no sign yet that he’s going to be suspended for Sunday’s game, but fans and everyone else involved in the club could face an anxious couple of days to find out.
UEFA’s 31-page ‘Return to Play Protocol’ released earlier this month states: ‘Players are recommended to keep from changing their jerseys.’ It adds that failure to comply with obligations “can lead to disciplinary action in compliance with the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations.”
Before the return of the Champions League after the lockout, it was confirmed that exchanging shirts during the mini-tournament would result in a 12-day period of self-isolation.
UEFA’s official protocol is not meant to say that isolation will have to take place, but there are now concerns about Neymar’s involvement.
