In Bundesliga football results, Eintracht Frankfurt drew 1-1 at Augsburg on Sunday, missing out on a spot in the top-six.
This also means that the European hopefuls have now made it to two games without a win in 2022.
The visitors were the better side here, but despite a dominant second half they eventually could not find the winner.
They remain in eighth place on 28 points, three off Hofenheim in fourth, and two off Freiburg, who are sixth.
Bundesliga Football Results – Eintracht Frankfurt Drew 1-1 at Augsburg
With American teenager Ricardo Pepi making his first Bundesliga start, Augsburg began well.
However, that was only until Daichi Kamada completed a quick break by rounding the keeper to put Eintracht in front.
In response, Augsurg’s Michael Gregoritsch continued his recent scoring run with his fourth goal in seven matches. He rifled the ball in seven minutes before the break to level 1-1 for the hosts.
The visitors were more aggressive and poured forward in the second half. And another Eintracht effort landed in the goal but unfortunately the referee ruled it out for a foul.
Augsburg keeper Rafal Gikiewicz also made a double save three minutes from the end to protect their point.
They have thus secured a third draw in their last four games to move out of the relegation playoff spot. And these draws have brought them into 15th place.
Towards the end, Gikiewicz’s Eintracht counterpart Diant Ramaj responded with a superb save of his own deep in stoppage time. This is how he was able to deny Florian Niederlechner in the box.
