Several ex-Juve players can still be suspended retroactively for their actions in their Turin period. At least that’s what La Republicca writes. If they cooperated in a financial scheme that the club withheld from the Italian federation, they could still be punished.
Juventus was recently deducted of fifteen points for various financial violations. Players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Giorgio Chiellini, Paulo Dybala and Dejan Kulusevski are said to have received deferred salaries outside the official accounts. If it is proven that they have deliberately cooperated in this, they can be suspended for up to a month.
A hearing will take place in Turin on March 27, at which a decision will be made. It was previously announced that Ronaldo also requires money from his former employer. He would still have a small twenty million euros credit from Juventus.
Due to the fifteen-point deduction, Juventus is now in tenth place in Serie A, twelve points behind the European places and 27 points behind leader Napoli. Without the points deduction, the Old Lady would now be in second place.
Cristiano Ronaldo suffers semi-final loss
Cristiano Ronaldo was unable to help Al-Nassr with a place in the Saudi Super Cup final on Thursday evening. Under the guidance of referee Danny Makkelie, Al-Ittihad was 1-3 too strong in the semi-final, so that the Portuguese saw his first chance at a prize with his new club go up in smoke.
Ronaldo won 1-0 against Ettifaq FC on his debut for Al-Nassr last Sunday without scoring himself. Four days later, the 37-year-old Portuguese could not help his new employer to a victory in the battle for the Saudi Super Cup. The Brazilian Romarinho gave Al-Ittihad the lead after fifteen minutes after a nice attack and just before half-time Moroccan international Abzerrazak Hamdallah increased the margin for Nuno Espirito Santo’s team with a striking header.
Ronaldo also had a header just before the 0-2, but did not hit a goal. The star is still waiting for his first official goal in the service of Al-Nassr. That didn’t change in the second half either. A goal from Anderson Talisca brought Rudi Garcia’s team back into the game in the 66th minute. But in extra time Al-Ittihad ended all hope when Muhannad Shanqeeti made it 1-3 from a counter. Cup winner Al-Fayha awaits in the final.
