Barça midfielder Sergio Busquets is considering his future. The midfielder will leave Barcelona next summer and has several offers. All outside Europe.
Busquets is considering a new club: “Have three or four options”
“I have three or four options,” the Spanish midfielder told RAC1. “All outside Europe.” The Spanish medium reports that it concerns Inter Miami and clubs from Saudi Arabia. The chances of him staying in Spain are small. “I also don’t know if I could play a match against Barcelona,” Busquets added.
Several factors play a role in Busquets’ choice. “I would like to go to a place with quality of life, because I go there with my whole family. But I have to judge everything. Also the financial and the sporting part. I make this decision together with my environment,” he said.
Since January, Busquets has had the feeling that his time at Barcelona is over. He revealed, “It wasn’t easy at all. There were days when I thought: yes, but also days when I doubted. In the end, I think I made the best decision. I will not return to that, I want to live a new experience. I didn’t want to leave with that feeling.”
Ter Stegen has little appetite for a new salary offer at Barcelona
Marc-André ter Stegen is not particularly enthusiastic about the upcoming salary talks with Barcelona. The club will again try to reduce salary costs, but the German goalkeeper indicated that he had already given up a lot in recent years.
In recent years, various players have already made salary sacrifices to guarantee the survival of Barcelona. La Liga boss Javier Tebas has indicated that the salary of the Spanish champion is still not in order. As a result, salary costs must first be reduced before Barça can attract new players.
Relevo asked Ter Stegen if he was willing to hand in salary again, but the goalkeeper was a bit reluctant. “The club and I have always had an open and direct relationship. They know that I am always willing to talk, we have done that in the past. But in the end the feeling prevails that we have already made a lot of efforts,” the goalkeeper admits.
Repeatedly reviewing salary payments does not exactly indicate strict policy. According to Ter Stegen, the club should therefore think carefully about the situation. “Whether it was me or others, all decisions were reviewed and everyone looked at things again. In this situation, now is the time to think carefully, in all respects,” he concludes.
