Chances are that Rúben Neves will make the switch to Al-Hilal. Wolverhampton Wanderers has agreed with that club on a transfer fee of 55 million euros, The Athletic and Sky Sports report on Sunday.
Wolverhampton agreement on multi-million transfer move for Neves
Neves was also linked to Barcelona on several occasions, but the Spanish club was unable or unwilling to continue due to various circumstances. Al-Hilal did and is in pole position to overtake Neves. Neves’ contract ran for one more season; he has yet to work out personal terms with Al-Hilal. The transfer is expected to be finalized next week.
Neves made the switch from FC Porto in the summer of 2017 for around eighteen million euros. He has played in Wolverhampton’s shirt for the past six seasons.
Dembélé clarifies his future at Barcelona
We shift our focus from a Barcelona target to a Barcelona player. Ousmane Dembele’s future lies in Barcelona. In an interview with MARCA, the 27-year-old attacker indicates that negotiations are ongoing. “My agent is in talks with the club.”
Barça want to break open Dembélé’s contract and extend it until 2027. That would mean a reward for the French attacker, who threatened to leave Camp Nou last year. “But I didn’t see myself leaving Barca,” Dembele said. “We were negotiating, which is normal in football. Finally an agreement was reached. There were rumors about Paris Saint-Germain. Maybe because I’m French, but nothing ever happened.”
His upcoming contract extension feels good for Dembélé, who sees that things have changed at the Spanish national champion. “This Barça is a combination of experienced players and talents. There is a very good atmosphere in the dressing room, it feels like a family. I feel very good with my teammates and in the city. I’m happy here,” he said.
Injury
One of the reasons that Dembélé has found his happiness is breaking through his injury. “I managed to play more regularly, I work a lot on my hamstrings, because I had a lot of problems with that. I do that before and after games, I also have a physiotherapist in France who always sends me a schedule. Together we succeeded in creating more continuity. That is very important for a player,” he concluded.
