Shakhtar defeated Wolfsburg (3:0) at the NSC Olympic.
In the first half, Shakhtar created several dangerous moments. But Luis Kashtru’s team still failed to open an account in a duel.
At the 65th minute, the referee Ivan Kruzhlyak awarded a penalty to Shakhtar.
However, he soon changed his decision after watching the video replay. At the same time, the referee removed Shakhtar’s defender David Khocholava.
Two minutes later, Wolfsburg also remained with just ten players. John Brooks received his second yellow card.
Most of the action arrived at the end of the match, as Shakhtar managed to win by scoring three times in four minutes.
A double was scored by Junior Moraes, and another goal was owed to Manor Solomon.
So, Shakhtar won in the second leg of the 1/8 finals of the Europa League. The first match of the confrontation ended with the victory of Ukraine- 2:1.
Shakhtar will now play against the winner of the Eintracht-Basel match in the 1/4 of the Europa League final.
