In a match of the fifth round of the Italian football championship, Inter beat Fiorentina 1-3, away on the road. So, for one of yesterday’s Serie A football results, Inter scored thrice against Fiorentina to retain their current first place.
Inter lead the table with 13 points. Napoli are in second place with one point less, but also one game less. Meanwhile, Milan and Atalanta come next because they each have 10 points.
The Italian champions won, and are at least temporarily taking the lead in the standings.

They turned the score around after being one goal down because the “Violas” were leading 1-0 at halftime.
Fiorentina took the lead with a goal by Riccardo Sottil in the 23rd minute. And they managed to maintain the lead until the break.
In the 52nd minute, though, Matteo Darmian equalized, and just three minutes later, Edin Džeko gave the guests the lead.
In the last moments of the match, Perišić scored to confirm Inter’s victory with the assistance of Robert Gagliardini.
Also, Fiorentina played without one player because of the sent off Nicolas Gonzalez from the 78th minute.
Other Serie A Football Results
Elsewhere, Atalanta also attained victory by winning 2-1 against Sassuolo, and all the drama here happened in the first half.
The home team took the lead in the 4th minute with a goal by Robin Gosens. In the 37th minute, Davide Zappacosta increased it to 2-0.
And finally, in the last moments of the first half, Sassuolo’s Domenico Berardi reduced the parity to 1-2.
Mario Pašalić played the last six minutes and made up for the home team.
Also playing their first match of the fifth round, Bologna and Genoa drew 2-2. All four goals in this match came in the second half.
The hosts led 1-0 and again, 2-1, but Genoa still managed to not lose but instead win a 2-2 draw.
Aaron Hickey (49) and Marko Arnautović (85-11m) scored for Bologna. Mattia Destro (55) and Domenico Criscito (89-11m) scored for the guests.
