After questioning Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s competency (transfer rumours), Rio Ferdinand wants Erik ten Hag to take charge of Manchester United.
The former Manchester United defender and current TV pundit believes the Ajax manager might fit well, indeed perfectly, with United.
Current Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been under an immense pressure lately. He is under critics’ fire for the squad’s recent poor run of form and the club’s low-performing record this 2021-22 season.
And Rio Ferdinand, for one, believes Erik ten Hag’s success with Ajax makes him the perfect candidate for Manchester United.
Rio Ferdinand Wants Erik ten Hag to Take Charge of Manchester United
Rio Ferdinand has full faith in the Dutchman’s ability to fit right in at Old Trafford.
“For any manager coming in to a new club, it’s almost like you’ve got to show people why you’re there immediately. You have to be able to go in there and command a whole dressing room full of egos, big personalities. That’s a job of anyone coming in,” the Englishman told his ‘FIVE’ YouTube channel.
“I don’t know ten Hag personally but he’s doing a fantastic job with Ajax – it isn’t a small club. The best in the Netherlands.
“Yes, it’s different [from the Premier League] and the landscape is different but it’s still a huge club and he’s got to work with and an expectation levels there every day are to win.
“That’s something that will be there every day and would be there if he came to Man United.”
