Kovacic exchanges Chelsea for Manchester City
Manchester City reportedly pays a transfer fee of around thirty million euros to Chelsea, which sees a lot of players leave this transfer period.
Kovacic played a total of four seasons for Chelsea. He achieved the necessary successes with the London team. He won the Europa League in 2018/19 and the Champions League in 2020/21. Kovacic also won the Champions League three times with Real Madrid.
The 29-year-old central midfielder is also a fixture in the Croatia national team. In recent years he appeared in 95 international matches.
Kovacic very happy after transfer: “City has the best team in Europe”
Mateo Kovacic has commented for the first time on his transfer to Manchester City. The midfielder is very happy with the move.
The former player of Dinamo Zagreb, Internazionale and Real Madrid is happy with his move. “This feels great,” Kovacic told City’s official club channel. “All the people have already made me feel very welcome. I would like to be part of this club. I can’t wait to get started because it must be very special to play for a club that has won so much.”
Kovacic knows best what it’s like to play against City. He knows the strength of his new team. “A great team with great players. That makes me excited. I’m going to play with all the winners. I’ve played against Rodrí, Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva… Violents,” he added.
One of the reasons for coming to the Etihad Stadium is the presence of the manager. Pep Guardiola convinced Kovacic to come to Manchester. He revealed, “I can learn from a great manager. He will teach me to understand the game better. Above all, I hope to become the best version of myself. His presence certainly influenced my choice.”
“City are the best club in Europe at the moment,” Kovacic emphasized once again. “So when I heard they wanted me, it was a huge recognition for me as a player. That such a big club wants you, that has stroked my ego. It’s a great privilege to be here.”
