Manchester United’s Premier League revival plans face a new possible challenge.
They were defeated in one of the two friendly games on Friday by Championship side West Brom, losing the first match with a 2-1 score.
United brought out two separate teams against West Brom in the two matches. The first United team included: Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Daniel James, Eric Bailly and Nemanja Matic.
Manchester Evening News revealed that Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes worked together in the midfield throughout the opening loss, with the Portuguese playmaker scoring and missing a penalty in the 90 minutes.
However, with two goals from Matt Phillips and striker Kenneth Zohore, Manchester lost 2-1.
The second squad included Tahith Chong, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Aaron Wan Bissaka, Luke Shaw and goalkeeper David De Gea.
In the three-o’clock kick-off for this second game, the Reds secured a 3-1 win, with midfielder Andreas Pereira in the goals with a brace, and Tahith Chong in the scoresheet as well.
