Jesse Lingard says he’s sure he’s got a future at Manchester United, claiming the club is “in his heart”.
In recent weeks, Lingard has been linked to a potential departure with the possibility of ending a stay with Man Utd, that started at the age of just eight.
But Lingard says he’s optimistic that both in the short and long term he will continue and play a part for the squad.
He is confident about his standing at United, after scoring in the Europa League win over LASK on Wednesday.
When asked whether he feels he’s going to get opportunities at Man Utd, Lingard told BT Sport: “100 percent. Playing against LASK Today, there’s plenty of space beside him and my goal was part of that. Seeing the run, I remained on side and had to be calm.”
“You take confidence from goals of course,” he said. “This season I tried to add goals and I began and scored, so hopefully now I will take on the rest of this game.”
He added: “Football keeps your mind away from anything that you’re not in the best mental condition. I love to play football, appreciate football and, of course, Man Utd is in my blood. I want to play for the team.”
