Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola has revealed that he dreamed of working in England when he was in charge of Barcelona and Bayern.
“Looking back on the five years I spent at Manchester City, I feel so good. I feel very good now. I felt the same way last season, even though we didn’t win any trophies. I feel good, I have friends, I feel protected, I feel loved by the fans, the team follows my ideas, I enjoy working with these players,” Guardiola told Rio Ferdinand.
“I have an incredible environment to work in. I hate November, December, January, February in England because I would like to see better weather (laughs). But I have everything. Everything to do my job. That’s why I renewed my contract with Man City. That’s the only reason.”
He then revealed: “I am not saying that I was bad at Bayern or Barcelona, but I always dreamed, when I worked with those clubs, to be in England. I wanted to work in the land of Shakespeare, The Beatles and Oasis. England is not only football, but also cinema and theatre. A special country.”
