After the Catalan club dismissed Ronald Koeman in tragic football transfer news, Xavi may become Barcelona’s coach very soon.
In the meantime, Barcelona Football Club have just named Sergi Barjuan as their new, interim manager.
The club will officially introduce current Barça B coach to the senior squad this afternoon. A training session, the first one with Barjuan in charge of the first team, will follow at the Ciutat Esportiva.
“His interim position as first team coach shall end as soon as the club has hired full-time head coach to replace the dismissed Ronald Koeman,” the club’s official statement says.
Sergi Barjuan may even appear for tomorrow’s press conference ahead of the La Liga 11th round clash against Alaves. And Joan Laporta, the Blaugrana chairman and president, may likely accompany him.
Tomorrow, thus, Barjuan is probably going to discuss the upcoming game and the club’s plans for the near future.
Previous reports, meanwhile, named Xavi Hernandez as the one to take over the team. And now, indeed, it seems he may assume the reigns at Camp Nou after the international break in the middle of November.
