Cristiano Ronaldo is yet to attract much interest in a transfer from Europe according to Spanish media. AS and Marca reported that only Al-Nassr from Saudi Arabia has a concrete interest in the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
Since the elimination of Portugal against Morocco at the World Cup in Qatar, the clubless Ronaldo has been training with his former employers Real Madrid. The Royal offers the club icon the space to maintain his condition in his search for a new club.
There is not (yet) any concrete interest from Europe for Ronaldo. The all-time top scorer of the Portuguese national team has a very lucrative offer from Saudi’s Al-Nassr, according to Marca, but he has not yet said yes.
Al-Nassr, where Frenchman Rudi Garcia, has given Ronaldo until the end of this calendar year to make a final decision. At the club from Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo could encounter striker Vincent Aboubakar (international Cameroon), David Ospina (ex-Arsenal) and Luiz Gustavo (ex-Bayern Munich), among others.
In other news, Andrés Iniesta is not ruling out a return to Barcelona in the role of assistant coach. It would mean a reunion with former teammate Xavi Hernandez, with whom he formed an impressive duo in Blaugrana ‘s midfield for years in the past.
Iniesta’s dream of a Camp Nou return
In an interview with SPORT, Iniesta, who still has a one-year contract with the Japanese Vissel Kobe, calls a reunion dreamed of by the supporters ‘not impossible’. “I think what we as culés want most of all is for the team to win. Regardless of whether Xavi-Iniesta is part of it. We will see. I won’t say it’s impossible. But it’s very difficult in terms of timing and things like that,” the former World champion said.
“I just want Barca to win again, play well, and have good form. As far as I’m concerned, we’ll see what happens in the future. Hopefully I can return here one day,” says the man who was active with the Catalans until the summer of 2018.
Iniesta also commented on Sergio Busquets’ departure from the Spanish national team. “Apart from the fact that I live far away from here. And from everything that is being said, there is nothing else I can say about Busi that he is not passé. He is the captain of Barça and, until now, the captain of Spain. Until his last day he will keep his level and be the example that he is. One day he’ll have to leave, but that’s the law of life,” he remarked.
