Chelsea’s preparations for the Premier League season resumed this afternoon in fine fashion.
The Blues beat QPR by 7-1 at Stamford Bridge in a closed-door game for a friendly bout. It comes just a few days after Chelsea defeated Reading 1-0 at Cobham in a similar fixture.
There was plenty of match action for the entire squad, with N’Golo Kante starting out for the Blues after he recently returned to full contact training.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Billy Gilmour both played significant roles in the big victory.
Frank Lampard’s side brushed aside the Championship side in the west London sunshine yesterday, with goals from Mason Mount, Willian, Loftus-Cheek and Olivier Giroud putting Chelsea in a commanding 4-1 half-time lead.
It was much the same after the break, with another Loftus-Cheek strike adding to the score line before Gilmour grabbed two to put the shine on a fantastic display at Chelsea.
