On account of being banned, Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon will miss the Turin derby.
He has been disqualified for “blasphemy” during the match against Parma on December 19.
The Federal Court of Appeal upheld the Federal Prosecutor’s appeal.
This means they suspended the veteran goalkeeper for one match. In other words, Buffon will miss the Turin derby.
“The Federal Court of Appeal upheld the appeal of the Federal Prosecutor, inflicting one match of disqualification on Gianluigi Buffon,” the statement read.
Also Buffon was fined €5,000 for using a “blasphemous gesture” during the match against the Gialloblu.
“The Juventus goalkeeper, sanctioned by the National Federal Court with a fine of €5,000, had been referred for having uttered a sentence containing a blasphemous expression during the match against Parma last December 19,” the statement went on.
