Arsenal allegedly made progress in negotiations on a midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai deal for Red Bull Salzburg.
Szoboszlai, who could cost Salzburg £25 m, has contributed 15 goals and 22 assists for the Austrian club from his 58 outings
With the 19-year-old having only two years left on his contract, Salzburg will be considering offers for one of their key men this summer.
It is expected that the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic will result in Arsenal having a quieter transfer window than originally planned.
According to French journalist Manu Lonjon, however, the Gunners held discussions about Szoboszlai, who later in 2020 could move on to a high-profile European side.
Lonjon claimed that Arsenal and AC Milan are in advanced talks when asked who is prepared to rival Paris Saint-Germain for the signing of the Hungary international.
