Serie A – Milan vs Bologna: Bologna travelled to Lombardy to face AC Milan at the San Siro. The hosts entered the contest in a situation, where winning all of their remaining matches this season would win them the league title.
For Bologna on the other hand a win would have given them the momentum to fight for a position in the top half of the table.
The contest, however, was closely fought between both sides. The hosts in all honesty were only just ahead of their opponents in the fixture. There were certain moments in the contest where the visitors might have just pulled off an upset.
However, neither team was able to get on the score sheet and had to settle for a goalless draw.
Following the result, Milan have still managed to stay on top of the league table and are now just a point ahead of Napoli. With that being said, it has certainly created a panic among the supporters.

Managers’ reaction
AC Milan manager, Stefano Pioli: “The team played, fought and ran but we lacked precision in the final third. That dictated the result, not a performance in which we only let our opponents have a few chances at the start of the game. If we took 33 shots and didn’t score, then we weren’t clinical enough. It wasn’t a matter of good or bad luck.
“I think that the boys are fine. They played with intensity and a high tempo today from start to finish. We’ll try to do better. Bologna’s defence was very compact.
Playing with four attacking players would see us just going to the long ball – I preferred to keep Leão to give us more width.”
Bologna assistant manager, Emilio De Leo: “This is a difficult time for us, and Mihajlović asked us not to give up at any moment, just as he does not give up.
“Soriano was injured, but we wanted three midfielders to oppose Milan. We were also brave with the wings, because they didn’t go down too far.”
