If it is up to Monza owner Silvio Berlusconi, Zlatan Ibrahimovic will continue his career at AC Monza. The 41-year-old Swede will be available on a free transfer next summer.
Berlusconi wants Zlatan to a transfer-free transfer in the summer
According to Calciomercato, AC Monza chairman Adriano Galliani intends to reach out to Zlatan Ibrahimovic one of these days. Reportedly, the former Ajax striker will be willing to listen to any offer, but will first talk to his current club AC Milan to hear Paolo Maldini’s plans.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic made his comeback as a Sweden international last week. Fifteen minutes before the end, he came on in a 0-3 defeat against Belgium in the European Championship qualification. In Serie A, he only played four times this season due to a long injury. He was accurate in the 3-1 defeat at Udinese.
At AC Monza, the current number thirteen in Serie A, Zlatan Ibrahimovic would become a teammate of Italian international Matteo Pessina and on loan Arsenal defender Pablo Marí, among others.
Despite it being unlikely with just eleven games left in the season, it would be interesting to see if this move would go through if AC Monza get relegated.
Marcelo Bielsa may return to coaching as national coach
Staying with the theme of legends of the game making moves, Marcelo Bielsa seems to be returning down the line more than a year after his departure from Leeds United. According to TyC Sports, Marcelo Bielsa is almost certain to be the new national coach of Uruguay.
The 67-year-old Marcelo Bielsa would thus become the successor to Diego Alonso, who was pushed aside as national coach of the South American country at the end of last month. He is currently being replaced by Uruguayan Under-20 coach Marcelo Broli. The talks with Marcelo Bielsa are said to be in the final phase.
For Marcelo Bielsa it will be his third job as national coach. Previously Marcelo Bielsa had Chile and Argentina under his wing. Uruguay experienced a disappointing World Cup in Qatar. It only won Ghana’s last group game 2-0. That was not enough to advance to the knockout phase. As the Uruguayans finished below Portugal and South Korea in group H.
