Paris Saint-Germain have revealed that Georginio Wijnaldum will wear the club’s number 18 shirt during his official debut for them. So, Wijnaldum will be PSG’s number 18 after his football transfer as a free agent from Liverpool this summer.
The Netherlands international joined PSG on a free transfer after leaving Liverpool earlier this summer.
Indeed, after declining to extend his contract at Liverpool, PSG confirmed his signing, just over a month ago.
However, due to international obligations, PSG have had to wait until now to officially unveil the Dutchman.
Wijnaldum Will Be PSG’s Number 18 after His Football Transfer
After he signed a three-year contract in Paris, Les Parisiens have confirmed Wijnaldum’s new number on their official website.
The former Liverpool midfielder will wear the Parisian club’s number 18 jersey.
Indeed, Wijnaldum, PSG’s new number 18, will feature on their first team from the start of the 2021-22 season.
While it may appear to be a relatively obscure number, some iconic players have worn PSG’s number 18 shirt. In recent years, Gianluigi Buffon and Zlatan Ibrahimovic both sported the jersey number during their stints at Paris Saint-Germain.
Wijnaldum Wants to Play Alongside Pogba at PSG
In related transfer news football, Georginio Wijnaldum has admitted that he “would love” to see Paul Pogba join Paris Saint-Germain.
