Barcelona have announced that they have reached a deal to re-sign Dani Alves. As they make public this official football transfer, Barcelona have brought back Dani Alves to Camp Nou.
The 38-year-old Brazil international departed Sao Paulo in September and has been a free agent since then. But he will return to Camp Nou for the remainder of the season.
Alves will begin practicing with the first squad next week, but according to Barça, they won’t register him until January.
Already, though, Barcelona have lauded him as the best right back in the club’s history in an official statement.

Barcelona have confirmed that they are re-signing former Barca right-back Dani Alves, who is presently a free agent.
“Although his main role has always been in defence, in the true Brazilian wing-back tradition, Alves also likes to join the attack, where he has a fine shot from outside the area, earning him the reputation as one of the finest players of all time in his position,” Barcelona’s statement read.
“He was an automatic choice under all of Pep Guardiola, Tito Vilanova, Tata Martino and Luis Enrique, and the fans loved his dedication and extroverted character. In the summer of 2016, he left for Juventus, and since then has been at Paris Saint-Germain and lastly, at São Paulo back in his home country.”
Alves joined Barcelona from Sevilla in 2008, making 391 appearances in his debut season. And the player now has the opportunity to add to the 43 titles he has previously won in his career.
Earlier on Friday, reportedly, Xavi and a former teammate of Alves’, personally intervened to assist get a deal through.
That was when it was seemingly on the verge of collapse, but this timely intervention perhaps secured the iconic comeback.
