Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund are close to agreeing on a fee for Jadon Sancho.
Both clubs are understood to be confident about completing a deal that will make Sancho the most expensive English player in history.
United is expecting to pay an initial € 100 m (£90 m) fee over three annual installments for the player, and an additional € 20 m in performance-related add-ons.
It is understood that Sancho, the key target for Ole Gunnar Solskjær, will earn about £250,000 a week – a significant increase from the five-year contract he signed in August 2019 at Dortmund.
The England forward has already agreed on personal terms for a five-year contract at Old Trafford, reports.
Moreover, to help them bring in a replacement, Dortmund would prefer to have the transfer completed by next week.
Alexis Sánchez’s imminent departure to join Internazionale on a permanent deal has freed up funds to move for Sancho from United.
Inter is not expected to pay a fee for the former Arsenal forward but will pledge to take over his contract worth £390,000 a week for his three-year deal’s final 12 months.
At the age of 17, the now-20-year-old left Manchester City in 2017 to move to the Bundesliga in an effort to secure first-team football. He scored 17 league goals and provided 16 assists last season.
He is expected to compete for a spot in Solskjær’s attack with Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and the emerging star Mason Greenwood.
Also, United’s 19-year-old left-back Brandon Williams has signed a new contract with the option of a further year until June 2024.
