Liverpool vs Man City: Jurgen Klopp is all set to lead his Liverpool side for the battle with Manchester City. The German is aware that containing the threat causes further issues for Erling Haaland. At Anfield, these two titans will square off once more on Sunday.
Klopp does not hesitate to acknowledge the danger Haaland posed for the Sunday game. The German manager declared in the days leading up to Sunday’s game that City was currently the best team in the world.
Liverpool vs Man City: Klopp believes Haaland has made City even better
One of Liverpool’s primary goals is to stop the Haaland goal-scoring phenomena. “We need to prevent Klopp from receiving too many crosses since he’s perhaps the best striker in the world,” Klopp remarked. “We’ll give that a shot. But if you manage him, so many of City’s other elite players are given the room. It still isn’t much simpler as a result.
Klopp believes Haaland has made City even better. He possesses both a technical and physical aptitude. He has a good sense of where the spaces are and how to interpret the game. Strikers are defined by a variety of characteristics, and City’s strikers are supported by some of the game’s top players. It’s the ideal blend.
“We played against him when he was at Salzburg,” Klopp recalls the year 2019. “Why is he acting this way? You could sense his talent even when he was quite little. Although I don’t believe he started a fight at Anfield, we are actively trying to contain him. Then, he scored as well.”
Liverpool defeated Salzburg in the Champions League 4-3, despite the Norwegian adding his name to the scoresheet. The striker was defeated three times by The Reds, including this season’s Community Shield match. “Sometimes you forget that problems can arise in your own city. We need to keep it in mind,” added Klopp.
