The club have now announced the signing of Filip Uremović from Russian club Rubin Kazan. Hertha Berlin announced this through a statement.
The statement read: “Our first new signing ahead of the 2022/23 season has put pen to paper! Filip Uremović will join on a free transfer from Russian first-division side Rubin Kazan. The 25-year-old Croatia international spent the last two months on loan at Championship side Sheffield United. Uremović, who can play at centre-back and right-back, has signed a deal until 2026. And will wear the number 5 shirt for Hertha.”
Here is what the club’s sporting director Fredi Bobic had to say: “We have been able to sign a strong player in Filip Uremović, one that has been able to pick up valuable experience in several different leagues despite his young age. In addition to his versatility, we are also impressed by his tough-tackling nature as well as the leadership qualities he has shown on the pitch, having been captain at his former club. We are very happy that Filip has decided to move to Berlin,” said sporting director Fredi Bobic.
Uremović reacted to the signing by mentioning: “I want to take the next step in my career, continue to improve and help the team, which is why I am here.”
