Belgium vs Morocco
FIFA World Cup
Group F
27th November 2022
Al Thumama Stadium
Preview
In this game, the Belgians are traded as the clear favourites. Belgium couldn’t convince in the opening game against Canada, but still managed to get a minimal 1:0 win and work out a good starting position for the rest of the group phase. With Romelu Lukaku, the best striker is probably also missing against Morocco, but they have a good replacement in their own ranks in Michi Batshuayi. Morocco, on the other hand, come with confidence after winning the point against Croatia and will want at least one more point against Belgium.
However, Hakimi, Ziyech have to and Co. increase clearly on the offensive and not just focus on the defensive. Morocco will again have a lot of support in the stands and can rightly play for a win against Belgium and have hopes. Can Morocco throw up a little surprise, or will Belgium get their ticket to the round of 16 with a win?
Belgium
Belgium has been the secret favourite at every tournament for 10 years, but has failed to reach a final. This tournament could be the last chance for this generation. With players like Kevin De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku and Thibaut Courtois, you have big names in all lines. However, Lukaku is currently absent due to injury. However, Batshuayi was able to replace him well in the first game. The star of the team is Manchester City ‘s Kevin De Bruyne, valued at €80m. Belgium is currently ranked 2nd in the FIFA world rankings and has a total market value of €563.20 million. With an increase in performance, Belgium should be able to get a win against Morocco.
Morocco
Achraf Hakimi is Morocco’s most expensive and well-known player. Hakim Ziyech was able to return to the national team after Vahid Halilhodzic sorted him out and was surprisingly fired after a successful World Cup qualification. Mazraoui was injured in the game against Croatia and will probably not be able to play. Morocco will have to improve their performance offensively, otherwise the North Africans won’t qualify for the round of 16. The star of the team is PSG’s Achraf Hakimi with a market value of € 65.00m. Morocco is currently 22nd in the FIFA World Ranking.
