Manchester City went through to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League after they produced one of the goalless football results of the weekend. The English champions were all but assured of a place in the last eight after their 5-0 win in Portugal three weeks ago. CJ Egan-Riley was handed his Champions League debut in the absence of Kyle Walker and Joao Cancelo.

Managers Reaction
Man City manager Pep Guardiola: “The first half was better than the second. After the goal was disallowed, we were not active and we didn’t make movements. It’s not easy because after this result [in the first leg], in the second half, it was already over. It was a little bit not good, but I understand in these types of games in this situation, it’s difficult to handle it… The second half was a little bit sloppy but it’s not easy after 5-0. It’s a good sign. Before the people didn’t care what we were and in the last decade, step by step the club grew and we are there, every season in the Champions League, playing in this competition and qualifying for the last 16 and now we are in the quarter-finals.”
