Crystal Palace 2023–24 season Preview: It was yet another routine mid table finish for Crystal Palace last season. However, it would not be an overstatement to mention that Palace fans would be disappointed with the way things have panned out.
This is largely because the fans had hoped that they had a reliable, young manager for the next few years in Patrick Vieira. Nevertheless, Palace fans have something to look forward to with the experience of Roy Hodgson back in the dugout.

The Crystal Palace squad has by far one of the smallest in the Premier League. This is largely due to a number of players being released by the club.
The list includes, Joshua Addae, Ryan Bartley, Kalani Barton, Freddie Bell, David Boateng, Jack Butland, Maliq Cadogan, Junior Dixon, Reece Hannam, James Leonard, Cameron Lewis-Brown, James McArthur, Luka Milivojević, David Omilabu, Daniel Quick, Basilio Rieno, Rob Street, and Matthew Vigor.
Worryingly, only five of these athletes commanded a transfer fee. While the others were set to run their contract out. However, this is not the first time the club has had to deal with such a situation.
Midfielder Jefferson Lerma from Bournemouth was signed for free by the club already. Right winger, Adrian Mazilu from FCV Farul Constanta, the top flight of Romania is a player the club are close to signing at the time of writing.
Few interesting names including Sergiño Dest, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Perr Schuurs, Folarin Balogun, Charles De Ketelaere, Matheus França, and Arnaut Danjuma are all being linked with the club.

While another mid table finish looks certain for the club in many eyes. I do not see the club easing themselves towards such a position. This season would certainly be an interesting one for the neutrals to say the least. As the club will be without certain experienced veterans.
