Ligue 1 – Monaco vs PSG: The Monégasques made the most of a disturbed PSG side that struggled to create chances. Furthermore, the hosts punished the away defense that lacked discipline and organisation for most of the fixture.
It was the skipper Ben Yedder, who was the pick of the bunch on the day. The Number 10, completed a brace in the contest to take his goal tally up to 17 goals and is the league’s top goalscorer this season. The fixture also saw a goal from Volland, who capitalised on a defensive error.
Following the 3-0 result in the hosts’ favour, the club is 7th in the league, four points behind a spot in the Conference League. Their opponents meanwhile are still twelve points clear of their closest opponents on top of the division.

Managers’ Reaction
AS Monaco manager Philippe Clement: “This success really pleases everyone. But you always have to look forward. With frustration, you can’t move forward. We were knocked out of the Europa League, but now our focus is 100% on the league . We want to achieve a very good end to the season. I was not surprised to see the behavior of my players today. I believe in them, they have the qualities to do this kind of performance, but some have lacked confidence in recent weeks. It must be there all the time, like the aggressiveness on the pitch.
“We wanted to play really high today. With a lot of confidence and constant pressure on the opponent. When you play against Paris Saint-Germain, you have to show certain things, self-sacrifice, courage, and we did that.”
PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino: “It’s unacceptable. At this level, you can’t start a game the way we did. It’s clear the Champions League has done a lot of damage. The team should clearly let go of that.
“The international break should allow for a change in mentality and put us back to where we should be. We have to come back with the responsibility that goes along with putting on this shirt.”
