Among other recent Ligue 1 football results, Paris Saint-Germain easily beat Lille 5-1 in a French domestic fixture on Sunday. Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe both scored, thereby helping PSG extended their unbeaten run in the competition to 14 matches.
It was a clinical performance from the visitors, aided by some poor defending from their hosts. Portuguese midfielder Danilo Perrira scored a brace and Presnel Kimpembe also got his name on the scoresheet.
Also, Sven Botman had scored for Lille, who occupy a position in the midtable, in the first half.
It was a positive response from PSG following their Coupe de France exit on Monday at the hands of Nice. They now, after 23 matches, have a 13-point lead over Marseille in the title race.

On-loan signing Nuno Mendes should’ve put the Ligue 1 giants ahead inside the first three minutes. But despite benefitting from a flowing move by Messi and Mbappe, Mendes flashed the ball across the face of goal.
It didn’t concern the Parisans as with ten minutes gone Danilo Pereira brought the opener in the football match. He made use of poor goalkeeping from Ivo Grbic to steer in from point-blank range.
Lille started to come into the contest after a slow passage. They levelled through an overhead kick in the area, by Sven Botman, which goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma couldn’t handle.
However, the Parisans allowed them to be level for just three minutes as Presnel Kimpembe ran late into the area. From there, he guided home a corner-kick from Messi.
Lille struggled to cope and just as they tried a turnaround, the Parisans made it three goals. Messi made a solo run seven minutes towards halftime and executed a delicate dink over Grbic.
There were cautions for the travelling contingent on the stroke of halftime. A knock forced Di Maria to vacate duty and Julian Draxler filled in for him.
PSG continued their rampage six minutes into the second half. Pereira entered into a layoff from Leandro Paredes to fire in from close-range.
With the midway point in the second period gone, PSG added a fifth goal. After Mbappe weighed up his options from a pass by Marco Verratti, he eventually curled into the net.
There were opportunities either end thereafter, but the Parisans measured the closing stages well.
