Ligue 1 Football Results – Nice Secured a 2-1 Win over Nantes
Despite Nice’s domination, Nantes always looked capable of hitting them on the counter. In fact, les Canaris carved out the best chance early on with Sébastien Corchia’s free-kick narrowly wide, at 5 minutes.
Then, a slaloming Randal Kolo Muani run eventually found a stubborn Walter Benitez in the way (15′).
However, dominant Nice still managed to break the deadlock. Abdoulaye Sylla’s handball left referee Ruddy Buquet with little choice but to point to the spot. As a result, Dolberg stepping up to convert his sixth goal of the campaign in the 21st minute.
Although, it was Nantes who had the last say of the opening 45 minutes. Andrei Girotto pushed Corchia aside from another set piece, in a complete role reversal from Nante’s first chance. And he drilled home an unstoppable low shot for 1-1 (44′).
The second half was just 10 minutes into play when Nice pulled back in front with a goal. Thuram went on a driving run from midfield. He cleverly played a one-two with Amine Gouiri on the edge of the box, finishing low beyond Alban Lafont (55′).

In the final half hour, the visitors performed better, albeit poking and probing without threatening Benitez in the home goal.
Jean-Kévin Augustin was Antoine Kombouaré’s final roll of the dice. So, the PSG youth academy graduate replaced Osman Bukari for the closing minutes (80′).
However, Nice still looked the more likely to add to the scoresheet, especially before Justin Kluivert’s shot deflected clear (85′).
Eventually though, the match ended 2-1.
