SC Braga announced: “Simon Banza is SC Braga’s latest signing. The 25-year-old French forward arrives from Lens and has signed a contract valid for the next five seasons, with a €40 million release clause.”
After finalising the move, the former Lens forward Simon said: “First of all, I would like to say that SC Braga is a great club. I had the opportunity to face them last season and they were really great games. I’m very happy to be here and I appreciate all the support given to me. I hope to achieve great things together with the whole team and fans.
“SC Braga is a team that loves to compete. I saw the matches they played in the Europa League last season. The team is very good, they have great players. The fans are fervent and the city lives a lot of football.
“This season, I want to play as many games as possible. I hope to score a lot of goals and help the team to go as far as possible in the different competitions, in the championship, in the cups and in the Europa League. I want to help the club do better than last season.
“SC Braga is a club that knows how to manage young athletes very well. It manages to reconcile the youngest with the most experienced athletes. The Club project pleased me a lot, that’s why I accepted to come to SC Braga.”
