Erling Haaland is hungry for the Premier League to resume. While many other stars had the chance to shine at the World Cup in Qatar, the Manchester City striker worked behind the scenes on his fitness. And he took the time for an interview with ViaPlay.
In that interview, it is about his eating habits, among other things. In October, the strong Norwegian already said that he regularly eats cow heart and liver, pieces of meat that are rich in vitamin B, iron, phosphorus, copper and magnesium. However, in Haaland’s diet there is also room for more normal ingredients and dishes. In the new interview, the 22-year-old top scorer talks about his father’s lasagna with a smile.
“It tastes very good, but I will also be honest about it. Once they made lasagna and I ate it. The next day I made a hat-trick. Well, what can you do then? Before the next home game, I ate lasagna again and again and again, and scored a hat-trick again. Okay, so I’ll have to eat lasagna for the rest of my life,” says the relaxed Haaland. “I’m glad they’re making it for me. They make it with love. Call it hat-trick lasagna.”
The Premier League’s top scorer has already scored a hat-trick in three of City’s home games this season. Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest and Manchester United were the victims. The goal getter can’t wait to go on the hunt for goals again. A League Cup match against Liverpool is scheduled for City on Thursday. After that, Leeds United is the opponent when the Premier League resumes.
Haaland drew motivation from Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s lifestyle
In his rest period, Haaland drew motivation from Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s lifestyle, among other things. “It’s amazing that he has come up from scratch from Malmö. I think his mentality is the best I’ve seen in football. Physically he is very strong, but also flexible at the same time,” he added.
