The coach of the Spanish football giant Real Madrid, Zinedine Zidane, said that he was satisfied with what he saw in training after a break of almost 60 days due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“I’m happy to be with my players again, it’s the most important thing after almost 60 days,” Zidane said to Realmadrid TV. He added, “The players want to play, they are focused on what awaits us. There are 11 games left and we will prepare, let’s finish the season. You have to think positively because we’re lucky to be back at work.”
The Spanish championship was suspended in mid-March, and the clubs were given permission to start training in groups of ten players from 18 May.
Real Madrid was two points behind first-placed Barcelona at the time of the break, and there are 11 rounds left until the end of the championship.
“The players worked very well at home, and on their return, they were seen to be in shape,” said the French expert. “This week has been very good because we can work more. In small groups, but we can train more tactically, physically, technically. The team looks better this week and we will be even better in the coming days.”
