Javier Zanetti has been talking about his ‘pride’ of celebrating 25 years since he officially unveiled himself as an Inter player.
“Twenty-five years ago, today, [was] my official presentation with Inter,” he tweeted. “Still a beautiful moment to watch and remember with pride, for the start of my fantastic story with the Nerazzurri family.”
Zanetti was the first signing of the Massimo Moratti era at Inter in the summer of 1995, with the Nerazzurri paying €6.5 m for the then-21-year-old Zanetti to Argentina’s side Banfield.
The right-back went on to become the player with the most appearances in the history of the club. He had 858 appearances in 2010, along with winning five Scudetti, four Coppa Italia, and the Champions League.
Now 46, he retired from professional football in 2014 and was fast-tracked to his current position of Vice-President.
