The Bundesliga has not started again after the coronavirus break yet. However, midfielder Denis Zakaria is probably about to retire.
Zakaria had played in the league game on 7th March and injured his knee against BVB after a serious collision with keeper Yann Sommer. After the crash he was already missing in the victory against Cologne.
According to information from SPORT BILD, the knee injury of the Gladbach player is more serious than initially assumed. After 2 weeks Zakaria said that he recovered, but it turned out in another way. The injury is chronic, and so bad as for Zakaria to seriously consider retirement.
According to a club spokesman, the Swiss has not been participating in the current training for about a week, is undergoing continuous investigation. If the league continues with games in May, Borussia will definitely have to play without its star-probably until the end of the season.
