Schalke midfielder Weston McKennie has confirmed that it is his vision to compete one day in the Premier League, at a club that regularly plays in Europe.
He announced his dream that one day his career journey will see him play his trade in the top tier in England: “The next target for me is England. Playing in the Premier League has always been my vision.”
“I want to enter the team in Europe competing for a place – the Champions League or the Europe League. I am happy at Schalke for now, because I can play,” the 19-time-capped US international said in an exclusive interview with Goal and DAZN.
Snapped off the FC Dallas academy system in 2016, it took the 21-year-old just one season to move through the first team on the Bundesliga side.
A combative force in Schalke’s engine room, McKennie has gone from strength to strength after making his breakthrough three years ago.
