When asked about his plans for the future and what kind of club he’d prefer, defender Jan Vertonghen, he disputes that he had already agreed to sign a new deal with Spurs so that he could join Inter as a free agent: “I want to sign with the right club. It could be Spurs or another club.”
He reasons that, “It must be a club with ambition. I want to play in Europe, as the national team is important for me.”
According to HNL writer Kristof Terreur, Vertonghen pointed out that Italy and Spain were among the options he was looking at, particularly as he wanted to learn a different language: “I want to travel in Europe and learn a new language.”
Along with all this, he told Play Sports Kot on YouTube that, “It might sound weird, but since the coronavirus crisis, there has been more interest. I’m a free agent and some clubs might not have a lot of money.”
